Description

The Employment Resource Centre (ERC) is an outplacement organisation for unemployed members of the Jewish community. The ERC offers free, confidential, quality advice, training and excellent facilities in our Client Resource Centre.
The ERC offers people seeking work over the age of 16, who are job ready and eligible to work in the UK, the opportunity to gain skills to assist them in accessing jobs in today’s market. This includes those whose roles have been made redundant or under threat of redundancy; people having to make a career change; returners; school leavers and graduates; or people newly arrived into the UK.
We offer a personal advisor to guide clients through the job search process; seminars ranging from CV writing; approaching the job market and interview skills to confidence building and Business Start Ups. The ERC also offers networking opportunities, mentoring, computer skills training and mock interview practice.
The ERC is an independent charity with over 20 skilled volunteers supported by a small staff team and freelance trainers who ensure that our clients receive high quality support. This enables us to keep costs to a minimum. However, there are still significant costs incurred to provide the infrastructure and development of up to date services to offer our clients. These are met by voluntary contributions made by the Jewish community and without these the ERC would cease to exist.
Since the ERC opened in 1992, we have helped over 7500 people back into employment.
